Myofascial trigger points are tight knots of muscle fibers locked in a state of contraction, often near the muscle-tendon junction, causing pain and discomfort if untreated. Superficial trigger points can be felt beneath the skin as tender lumps and are treated with techniques like myofascial or acupressure massage, foam rolling, or using a tennis ball to apply pressure.
Deeper trigger points occur within muscles or fascia and are harder to detect as they cannot be felt through the skin. In my practice, I use acupressure massage and intuitive diagnosis to effectively treat both superficial and deep trigger points, promoting pain relief and healing.
